At the Center for Promoting Education and Research, we uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly accuracy. In alignment with this commitment, we participate in Crossref’s CrossMark initiative a trusted system designed to help readers identify the authoritative version of a published work and access any associated updates, corrections, or retractions.
The CrossMark icon is prominently displayed on both the HTML and PDF versions of our publications. By selecting this icon, readers can instantly confirm that they are viewing the most current and verified version of the article.
What the CrossMark Icon Signifies
The presence of the CrossMark logo on CPER publications reflects our dedication to:
• Ensuring all content remains current and accurate
• Providing full transparency regarding updates, corrections, or retractions
• Preserving a definitive version-of-record for all published materials
Types of Updates Supported Through CrossMark
CPER uses the CrossMark system to communicate a range of post-publication updates, including:
• Corrections: Issued for minor errors that do not alter the study’s core conclusions• Retractions: Reserved for significant concerns, including ethical violations, data integrity issues, or errors that fundamentally compromise the validity of findings
• Addenda: Supplementary information that enhances or clarifies the original article
• Editorial Notes: Publisher or editorial statements relevant to the article
• Article Version Updates: Revisions to the original work, including updated versions or changes to supplementary materials
Metadata and Ongoing Maintenance
As part of our CrossMark implementation, CPER routinely submits comprehensive article metadata including all version histories and updates to Crossref. This process ensures that readers accessing our content through CrossMark receive the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding each article’s publication status.
We encourage readers to look for the CrossMark icon on both the article PDF and its online homepage to verify the current version and review any updates.
